Single launch this Friday!
Hey there, sad-song fans 👋
Firstly...
I'd like to thank all of you who've already pre-saved my single on Spotify or shared my social media stuff or told your grandparents about me etc. over the last couple of weeks as I get closer to the launch of The Things I Think this Friday. It means loads to me and hopefully makes a difference with the great-and-wise Almighty Algorithm.
If you haven't pre-saved it yet, I'd love it if you did (you can click here to pre-save). If you'd rather not though, that's absolutely fine and it doesn't mean I'll love you any differently.

Radio Play, Press Releases and Pitches
The Things I Think got its first radio play last week, making its exclusive debut on the wonderful Dickie & Dan's Americana Show on Jorvik Radio. You can still listen again to the show from 30th November. They said some lovely things.
That was followed at the weekend by a spin on Jericho Keys' BBC Introducing on BBC Radio York (listen again around the 1hr40 mark. I'm over the moon that it's getting this kind of attention and to be honest, a play on the Beeb means the world to me. I'm made up!
I've been getting the track into the hands of media outlets, playlist curators and anyone else who'll take it and shout about it. It's getting a spin on an American radio station next week and a few outlets have said they'll review the track too.
All of this has meant learning new skills. Marketing is not something I've ever considered my strong suit, but I'm working it. I've had to write a press release. It's a weird experience composing a two page document entirely about yourself in the third person, smattered with quotes of yourself talking about yourself in the first person, and all entirely positive. It sends the head for a spin. I found it much easier once I'd created a persona for my fake press officer. Rodrigo Benidorm III is much better at writing about my life and work than I could be.

Last Push to Release Day
The song will appear on all the digital music platforms and streaming services on Friday 9th. I'll be staying up late on Thursday night to drink a drink as the clock ticks over. I hope you'll enjoy one too.
I really hope you enjoy listening to it then.
In the meantime I'll be hammering the social media to get as many pre-saves as I can. If you see one of my posts on Insta, TikTok or Facebook, leave a comment to say hi. The Almighty Algorithm laps that stuff up. And when the song comes out, please share it far and wide. Everybody loves a sad song.
 Cheers for now,
Pete
